Great idea! Does anyone here have experience with being in a street team? We could really use your help and advice in setting one up!
When we create a street team we really want to create a team where work together and where it is fun for you to be part of the street team. We don't want one of those street teams that abuses the enthousiasm of the bands' fans.
Well I'm in the Three Days Grace Street Team (threedaysgrace.fancorps.com) where I'm pretty active and I'm member of the Linkin Park Street Team (lpstreetteam.com)but never really used it.
If you (The Crowns) would want to start a street team you have to take care of it. You give the members orders like “post our banner in 5 places in the web” or something, which the members can accept. Then the member has to upload a screenshot, photo or written Text (depending on what the order needs) as proof and the team leader (probably you ;)) has to accept that. Then the member gets awarded points which can be exchanged with autographed or rare stuff or concert tickets. That's like the incentive to be active and not to quit after a week.
That's how fancorps works. It's pretty good because it is easy to use and has functions for everything you need to advertise for a band. The only problem is that it doesn't really form a community that works together, as you said. It's more like you do orders and get points to get the cool stuff
But that may also be because 3DG is a pretty well known band and had many street team members after a short time.
You could also make an own website like the LPST. There you can't just buy things for points in a store but get it in auctions. It's not as structured as fancorps wich makes it really very hard to use without any knowledge about street teams.
Well if you don't know fancorps you could just make an account for the street team of any band (works the same for every band) and see how it works =)
(You could use my referral link for that by the way
